Raising Money in the Name of Peace

Students from Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy (SJPIICA) and Blessed Sacrament School (BSS) in Walpole presented Mrs. Denise Richard with a check for $1935 for the Martin Richard Foundation. Students organized an in-school fundraiser with all proceeds going to the MR8 Foundation. SJPIICA and BSS created a partnership this year focused on the theme of Peace. Students from each school celebrated peace in many different ways in the classroom and through community service. The Foundation’s message of peace and encouraging both youth and adults to improve the lives of others and become bridge builders, peacemakers, leaders and change-makers by being kind, compassionate and committed to inclusion and the acceptance of diversity resonated strongly with both schools.
