Early Childhood

We believe that every student is a child of God at a unique stage of physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual development. A Catholic Faith Formation curriculum is used at all grade levels and Catholic values will be emphasized in all instructional areas. Students will also have prayer experiences, sacraments, and service opportunities in a caring, Christian community. We work to provide our students an opportunity to know our loving God as well as become Christian leaders for the world.

The  Lynch Foundation has fostered a collaboration and quality initiative among the early educators, principals and administration of early education programs at the four campuses of Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy, which joined the project in 2012.  The focus of this initiative is to support high quality early childhood classrooms by:

  • Providing direct funding and grants for new classrooms to expand capacity
  • Supporting educators and administrators through coaching and professional development
  • Promoting school readiness and positive outcomes for children with effective ELA and math curriculums that are developmentally appropriate
  • Establishing environments that support social and emotional growth and competence for young learners
  • Ensuring maximum access and parent choice through state issued vouchers

Through on-going support, children in our early childhood program are achieving high levels of school readiness by the end of their Pre-K year and beyond.  The exemplary program has required an expansion of all our early childhood classes.  This growth and rigor has positively impacted the Academy as a whole. “Partnering with the initiative means that more and more of the students we are responsible for will be better prepared to succeed in elementary school and in life.” stated Kate Brandley,  the Regional Director.
