Welcome to the Neponset Campus

Hello Neponset Friends & Families,

What an exciting year it has been at Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy! Your teachers and I have seen you grow so much — in your actions, in your words, and in your values. You are part of our school community, the Home of the Loleks! And as a Lolek, we know that our journey doesn’t stop when the school year dismisses. Over the summer, we are called to embody the values of Love, Open-Mindedness, Leadership, Engagement, Knowledge, and Spirituality. I can’t tell you how proud we are to see an SJP2CA student over the summer living out the Lolek way: altar serving at mass, being a big buddy at a summer camp, or putting a little extra work in with a tutor to get ready for the next school year.

We started each morning promising to follow the SJP2CA Mission and asking God to provide His guiding grace for us to embody these words:

• At SJP2CA, we grew in faith and knowledge, educating our minds and shaping our hearts.
• We come from a safe, nurturing, and culturally diverse environment in the heart of DORCHESTER!
• We are problem solvers, leaders, and peacemakers — practicing the essential skills to be successful at the next level.
• The world is a better place with Loleks living in it!   It is your responsibility to show compassion, love, unity, and peace to others wherever you may go as a global citizen!

In the last two verses of Matthew that I referenced, Jesus instructs His disciples to carry on the work He began in Israel. They are to go throughout the world, sharing the word of God to “all nations” and spreading the truth of His good works so that everyone may know. The last phrase, “I am with you always, to the end of the age” is an important message that Saint John Paul shares with us in his own words, “simply step out fearlessly, knowing that I am with you”.  No matter where He leads us, we will never have to doubt that His presence is with us.

Remember this summer the words of our original Lolek:  “The ultimate test of your greatness is the way you treat every human being.”   I love each of you very much and will keep the Lolek Family in my prayers!
