The last weeks of school are upon us and another school year is about to end. It has been a very good year in so many ways!
Our students, your children, have been a constant gift each day to me and our schools. They have worked hard to learn their lessons, engage in public speaking, help others through service, take on leadership roles and become Christ’s light for others. Their enthusiasm and joy brings life to our buildings. Our students across all campuses have celebrated Mass and received the sacraments along with wonderful prayer experiences. Our students have performed thousands of hours of community service and raised monies for cancer, food pantries, the Martin Richard Fund and our parishes. They have been people of peace and Christ’s light to others.
Our Early Childhood program has been working with the Lynch Foundation on the latest developments in early childhood. Our PreK and K1 teachers are brought tremendous new practices and techniques to your children along with new materials. All of our MAP testing and benchmarks showed growth and improvement. Our K2 students are ready for grade 1 as found on our First grade readiness test! Our Academy has continued to review and revise curriculum, instructional practices and align with Common Core. All of our eighth graders were accepted to more than one Catholic high school and earned over 1.3 million in scholarships and aid! Over 50% of our sixth graders were admitted to the exam schools! We will miss those students who will be graduating and those who will be leaving us to attend another school or moving. Each child has been a gift to our community. We will keep them in our prayers because we know they will bring Christ’s love to their new schools.
Our students had numerous Fine Arts opportunities, Art Shows, field trips, guest speakers, biography fairs, science trivia, ancient history museum and other enrichment activities to add to their educational experience. We are seeing the results of the Academy’s goal of providing the best educational and Catholic experience for our students. We will continue to grow to give all of our children the very best Catholic education.
As I reflect on the year, I have been so impressed and grateful for the quality and dedication of this faculty. Many of our faculty have earned awards, received grants and attended or taught numerous professional development workshops. Each day they continue to be Christ to one another and to our students!
Admissions: Don’t forget if you refer a family and they register and stay, you will receive $100 off tuition. Please refer families to us. We have an excellent track record with students getting into exam schools.
It is my hope that you will find these summer months to be restful, safe and enjoyable. Summer certainly should be a time for fun, but there should also be time for students to read and engage in academic enrichment work, so as to reinforce all the important academic skills and concepts they have been learning this year. This summer, all summer reading and math packets for students will be sent home and posted online. When we return to school after Labor Day, I look forward to talking with our students their summer and the places they visited and the books they read.
Thank you for a wonderful year!
